Symphony Magazine has included a six-page spread in its latest issue on the Albany Symphony Orchestra and its music director, David Miller.
“While still performing plenty of masterpieces from the European canon, they’re also building engaged audiences for new compositions,” the bimonthly magazine of the League of American Orchestras noted.
The orchestra, founded in 1930, has won numerous awards for its work, including the first Leonard Bernstein Award for children’s programming. Its concerts reach more than 20,000 adults and 13,000 youngsters annually and it conducts several education outreach programs.
